Impact & Achievements

I’ll admit, writing about myself like this feels a little awkward. But if I want to help others understand what I bring to the table, I think it’s more helpful to have actual examples (not just a list of arbitrary skills and job experience). What are some things that I’ve done that were genuinely helpful or made a positive impact?

Streamlining Data & Reporting

🔍 The Challenge

At Anvil Corporation, our team was responsible for forecasting the costs of engineering and installing large scale projects in an industrial setting. This meant we needed to keep track of a lot of data like how many manhours were needed to complete different tasks for 60+ projects ranging in value from $500K to $25M.

Unfortunately, the data for these various projects were scattered across multiple tools and databases, each designed for different functions. Project Managers (and other involved resources) were spending far too much time pulling information from disjointed reports, manually comparing datasets, and struggling to make informed, real-time decisions.

🚀 The Impact

✅ Cut reporting time from weeks to just 10 minutes, giving leadership instant access to key insights.
✅ Enabled faster, consistent, data-driven decision-making for Project Managers.
✅ Helped to secure a 3-year contract extension from Anvil’s largest client.

💡 The Solution

I built an automated, centralized reporting system that:
✔ Consolidated data from multiple databases into a single, streamlined report.
✔ Automated complex calculations, removing the need for manual data entry.
✔ Presented insights in an intuitive format, making it easy to compare forecasts, actual costs, and scheduling details all within an easily-navigated dashboard

📌 Key Takeaways

🔹 Efficiency Wins – Automated processes eliminated wasted hours of manual work.
🔹 Get Creative – Don’t be afraid to think outside the box. Just because a standard has been set doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best way.
🔹 Scalable Impact – What started as an internal tool became a key driver in securing continued business. Last I heard, this report is still being used!

Efficiency, Accuracy & Leadership

At Amazon, I worked in fraud investigations, identifying and shutting down high-risk merchant accounts selling counterfeit goods. The job was heavily metrics-driven, requiring investigators to balance speed, accuracy, and decision-making while trying to maintain a given quota each week.

🚀 Key Achievements:

✅ Regularly completed a week’s worth of investigations in a single day, setting a new efficiency benchmark.
✅ Maintained the highest accuracy in actions taken, leading to a promotion as the team’s auditor.
✅ Promoted from contractor to full-time employee in just 3 months.
✅ Selected to train a new Amazon investigations team in Costa Rica, helping scale the department internationally.
✅ Up for a promotion within a year of being hired full-time, recognized for performance and leadership.

This experience reinforced my ability to work efficiently, think critically, and lead teams to success in fast-paced, high-stakes environments.

Sales Excellence & Networking

When The Parking Spot opened its Salt Lake City location, I was responsible for growing B2B partnerships and corporate sales. Leadership had set an aggressive pro-forma revenue target in a brand-new market, which I was directed to meet or exceed.

🚀 Key Achievements:

✅ Successfully launched the SLC location, surpassing the annual pro-forma revenue target by 35%.
✅ Secured major corporate and government contracts, driving sustainable growth.
✅ Made several local news appearances and served as Director of Sponsorships for GBTA Utah and President’s Ambassador for the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce to further promote The Parking Spot’s presence in the corporate travel space.

Strategic Revenue Generation

When the pandemic hit, air travel collapsed, and with it, traditional revenue streams at The Parking Spot. Rather than waiting for things to recover, I shifted focus to alternative revenue sources and identified new ways to monetize underutilized assets (the off-airport parking lots).

🚀 Key Achievements:

✅ Converted unused parking acreage into a $4M+ revenue stream, identifying new business opportunities.
✅ Built an automated dashboard to help leadership track and evaluate alternative revenue sources.
✅ Led business development efforts to secure non-traditional partnerships, keeping revenue flowing during a critical downturn.

Entrepreneurship

Alongside my career, I’ve had the opportunity to support and contribute to two businesses I believe in: Rise4, a group fitness gym, and Elevate Performance, a physical therapy practice founded by my wife, Shannon.

Rise4

A thriving fitness community, Rise4 became profitable within six months of opening. As part of the ownership team, I’ve contributed to its growth while also designing and building the Rise4 website, helping shape its brand and digital presence.

Elevate Performance

Shannon’s physical therapy practice, Elevate Performance, is built around personalized, high-quality care for athletes and active individuals. I help manage the business side of the practice, supporting much of the back-end, administrative work, while also designing and building the Elevate Performance website.

Negotiation & Proposals

While OWDT started as more of a side gig, it has given me the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on sales and business development. Through proposal writing, client consultations, and high-value workshops, I’ve helped close over $500K in additional revenue for the company.

🚀 Key Contributions:

✅ Developed winning proposals, securing major client contracts.
✅ Led client workshops, shaping project direction and execution.
✅ Helped generate over $500K in new business, driving measurable growth.

This experience has allowed me to blend my sales expertise, strategic thinking, and client engagement skills in a way that directly impacts business success.
